Laura L. Loyacono

 

Laura Loyacono is the regional director of Project Lead the Way - Kansas City, a national program designed to create a pipeline of students prepared to pursue careers in engineering and technology.  This school year more than 2800 high school students and 2000 middle school students are enrolled in PLTW classes in 41 schools in the Kansas City metro area.   

 

Prior to joining PLTW, she served as Vice President for Public Affairs at the Kansas Health Institute and as Manager of Public Affairs at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation in Kansas City.  She also worked at the National Conference of State Legislatures where she managed the Economic and Cultural Development program. She also served on the legislative staff of former Colorado Governor Richard D. Lamm.  

 

She holds a master's degree in public administration from the University of Kansas and a bachelor's degree in political science from Stephens College.  Loyacono lives in Kansas City, Mo. with her husband and two school-age children.
