As part of CSW’s Community Initiatives team, Lisa works with
regions on major reinvention efforts to better connect innovation, workforce,
and community development to grow and support vibrant, entrepreneurial
economies. At CSW, Lisa works
extensively with WIRED regions and other similar communities, providing counsel and
facilitation with regard to region building and identity, public relations and
communications, leadership development and capacity building; and initiative
sustainability. With her team, Lisa is actively involved in developing strategies
to better leverage technology in support of community transformation, with
special emphasis on asset inventories, social networking, and engagement
through digital story telling.
Prior to joining CSW, Lisa worked for the Detroit Regional
Chamber of Commerce. There she managed
activities leading to Southeast Michigan’s designation as a “second generation”
WIRED region. She also worked with
many national and international partners, including the Canadian federal
government, on international border policy and manufacturing competitiveness, with
foci on policy advocacy and meta-regional growth strategies. Other professional engagements include:
University of Michigan, Graduate Student Instructor; Research Data
Analysis (RDA) Group, Strategic Accounts Manager; Public Sector Consultants,
Inc., Senior Consultant for Health Policy; and State of Michigan Department of
Management and Budget, Legislative Assistant.
Lisa holds a BA from Michigan State University’s public policy
school, James Madison College and Masters in Public Administration from the
University of Michigan’s Ford School of Public Policy. As a graduate student Lisa participated
in various programs and studies in international economic development,
including a year of study in Argentina and a month of teaching in South Africa.
